I don't understand the purpose of your request. Jaunty uses a different
version of F-Spot. I'm not interested in how F-Spot works under Jaunty.
The bug I'm reporting is for F-Spot on Hardy Heron 8.04. There are no
steps to reproduce the bug - it simply crashes when started.

It's a shame we have to wait for the next release for a fix, because it

Actually, for me it only detects UTF-8 and Latin-15. I even tried to
open a KOI8-U text file on gedit, and it was rendered as Latin-15.
Perhaps it depends on the locale?
While a fix is released, here's a workaround:
1- Open the text file with Firefox.
2- Select the correct character encoding.

My acer aspire one netbook has 2 sd-slots. 1 of those sd-slot always
contains a sd-card and is mounted as /home/username/Documents. When

After an update for udev earlier today the problem seems to have gone.
Sound works again and the error isn't raised by Apport. Hal, however,
still refuses to run, 'sudo /etc/init.d/hal status' tells me so.
Maybe it was indeed related to udev, I'll keep my eyes open for

I humbly suggesting upping the importance for this bug. It's a BIG waste
of paper, and it's here since 2 years ago, so a bit of pressure to solve
it wouldn't be bad. And to issue backports at least back to LTS and
Intrepid.

While creating a new Appointment or editing an existing one, when you select a
value from the drop-down menu to choose the time (hours and minutes) of the
appointment, that value does not appear in the proper place (see

@mac_v: I repeated the tests on Karmic and the feedback it gave is the same it
was on Jaunty.
I'm trying to figure out why you didn't have any warning message but my karmic
installation broke, so I can't do anything until I have some time to fix it...

I've asked a few non-technical users (mostly Windows users), all were
confused by the term compress. They can grasp the extract idea, but
unless you're technical or learned to used zip at a time were space
was dear (floppies, small hard drives) you'll have no idea what
compression can mean on a
