My screen is usually at 1024*768 at 85 Hz, but when I switch to
fullscreen in Totem, my screen resizes to 1280*1024 at 60 Hz.

Just unselected some applications with alacarte and when I closed it I
tried to see the menu and I only can access the "Places" and "System"
menus, but not the "Applications" menu.
I tried to see if there's a configuration file for that but had
I use Ubuntu 6.06, I just installed it.
I installed gnome-pim and more programs using synaptic, when I tried to
unselect some applications from the menu using alacarte I unselected the
Applications Submenu that gnome-pim used to put their two programs, I
unselect more programs, I created a new acc
I did that and my menu is back after logout gnome and login again.

This does not happen only with browsers. Telegram Desktop can save files
to "~/" but not to "~/1/". I've tried gedit code and deluge, and I have
no issues saving files with those.

I've done some further testing and this is 100% reproducible with Chrome
(deb), Firefox (apt) and Telegram Desktop (binary):
I can save to any of the "first level" directories, but not to any of the child
folders:
File saving testing with those three software:
~/ -> OK
~/1 -> Error
~/Desktop -> O
And I've found yet another weird behavior. Although I can't save to
"~/1" normally, if I add "~/1" as a bookmark, I can save to it, but only
if click on the bookmark. If I navigate to "~/1" trough the file
explorer with any other path instead of clicking the bookmark, I can't
save anymore.

AFAICT, my left CTRL key is working but I won't be able to enable this feature.
Actually looking at Thomas's screenshot I've noticed that the dconf setting
apparently has been moved from settings-daemon/mouse to desktop/interface, what
explains that I wouldn't found the key definition in the sch
My bad: the feature is now working (with CTRL key and of course not
"any" key). I was using sudo dconf-editor to set the key and of course I
was actually setting therefore the root user's desktop feature. Setting
true my user's key still wouldn't work but setting then "enable-
animations" true made
Have been updating since 16.04, now on Disco and JohnShep's fix works for me
also.
Agree with Dan Martin. "Works on a clean install" is not a good argument. This
is a bug.

I've found out the issue was related to an old "nautilus-terminal" python
extension.
Since the extension wasn't installed with apt or pip, i ran the following
commands:
sudo rm -r /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packa

I have been triying to retrieve the info you request from gdb, but there
is a problem. The page at the ubuntu wiki explains how to debug an app
that crashes. But, in this case, Nautilus doesn't crash. It is only the
properties window that disappears when you click on the "Launcher" tab.

Sometimes my gnome-panel crashes, whether I'm clicking on applets or on
Applications-Places-System, or application icons.

I use the most recent version(2.14.1-0ubuntu5) since I'm constantly updating my
packages and the problem hasn't been fixed so it might be just me.
But I don't get any dialog whatsoever, it simply becomes unclickable (sometimes
just the app icons and othertimes just the applet icons).
Should I do
One of the things I found to be disabling the gnome-panel is by double-
clicking the "CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor 2.14.1" applet. I don't know
if it's because there's no functionality by double-clicking and it may
be dealing with the double-click in a bad way or if it's just me.

Yes, I think that is just a way of getting the panel blocked. And independently
of the CPUfreq applet, when I startup linux I still get the panel blank.
Just wondering, if it does have to do with CPUfreq applet, maybe the startup
problem would be because it tries to load up the applet and fails.

I don't know if it's because of the recent package updates or because of my
removing of the CPUfreq applet, but the problem seems to have vanished.

I got exactly the same problem here, I had to edit the totem_config file
in order to change the subtitle size: a change in Totem's Preferences
produces nothing

I was trying to make a itself copy of an incomplete (One_File.avi) that I was
downloading...
when I had copied it to another place> I returned the same Copy of
(One_File.avi) to the same downloading folder again..
here is when nautilus had fail.

HI, I have Ubuntu Gnome 14.04, 64 bits, fresh install, and I decided to
trie Gnome Classic (fallback/flashback).
But, at the login, in GDM, even after I choose my user, the options to choose
other DE, in this case Gnome Ckassic, does not appear!

Well, I just installed for the 3rd or 4th time the package gdm, and the problem
is solved?!
And it was the exact same version that I had already installed!?
So, now I have all de xsession/de options available!
What as made me very sad is that note a single answer from anyone in launchpad

we all know that installing "bluetooth manager" makes bluetooth work,
after starting "bluetooth manager", sending and browsing files works,
but not receiving.
The solution to receive files from phone is very simple:
1. Just start "Personal File Sharing"
2. deselect "Share public files over Bluetot
