Hi,
gnome-system-monitor is not buildable without libpcre. Is this a
required external dependence or what?

libpcre is used for GRegexp, so it will end up being a dependency of
GLib anyway.

glib could be statically linked to its own internal copy of pcre so it
*could* be a dependency of glib.
BTW it's GRegex, not GRegexp :)

glib ships an internal snapshot for that. So if people really really
insist on removing this external dependency, you could do so

GLib can be built against system pcre, but the recommended configuration is
to use the included copy of pc
