What I believe is called the network-manager-applet or if I have the name wrong

I had the group password saved in the VPN settings. Looks like it got
dropped after the update, and I just assumed it was supposed to be
empty. When I entered the correct group password, VPN started working
again.

Okay, after adjusting the patch, I've pushed two branches for merging.
One of these exposes the new functions in gstreamer python, and the
other fixes the capitalization difference in transmageddon. I'd like for
these to be merged in for quantal, and then for us to get an SRU to
precise for this.
This fundamentally affects apt-get causing a failure of 'update'.
When a private repository has been added apt will fail to authenticate
to the server using the details in /etc/apt/auth.conf.
The reason is that the netrc code in apt only allocates 64 bytes for the
user token:
apt-pkg/contrib/net
Since this is a race condition and it was fixed as part of the update in
bug 1018784, I'm going to mark this as verification-done.

gnome-settings-daemons uses excessive memory and lets the CAPS LOCK LED
on my USB keyboard flicker.
I have added lsof output in case it helps.
I have tried to grab a core dump, the latter didn't work (i. e. no core
file), so no backtraces for a state. strace seemed innocuous

broadcom-sta-dkms should already build with cfg80211/nl80211, there
shouldn't be a need to patch it to do so -- it's dependent on the kernel
version number, which should be higher than 2.6.32 on all the releases

I found a problem related to this. I have 2 APs sharing a common SSID,
the Ubuntu laptop insist on connecting to the AP downstairs, instead of
the AP just 2 meters away! That's why it is so unstable.
