I've purged mythbuntu-lightdm-theme and lightdm fails to start now with this
message.
The directory /usr/share/lightdm/ doesn't exist at all btw, only
lightdm-gtk-greeter.

Oh, and in addition to the above, this is a vendorpatch in quantal and
will be included in the upstream package for 3.7/raring, so the fix
there for raring (where the feature is upstreamed) is totally different
from quantal (where it is a vendor patch).
