I've got the same problem. I don't even have the US keyboard layout
installed and yet, upon each login, the layout is set to US. Manually
setting it back to the correct one (Finnish in my case) works but after
a reboot, it's wrong again. Very annoying indeed.

I'm not sure it's upgrades that cause this issue, because I'm also
experiencing loss of custom keyboard shortcuts. I think the reverting of
keyboard shortcuts back to their default values happens at every reboot,
although I think it doesn't always happen.

Not sure if this is still helpful now, but it seems that this crash
doesn't happen in the print to pdf directory selector. The difference
seems to be there is a default selected value in the printer dialog.
Adding `btn.set_current_folder('/home')` in the pygtk version works
around the problem.

Hi,
I'm looking for the bug, because I have the same symptoms in my PC (not
MacBook).
I have found this other bug

with very similar symptons, in other platforms.
It seems common points in XOrg server and nvidia.

I will try to be by my computer today if a ppa is able to be made. You
guys may be off for the weekend... I tried googling about applying
patches but I'm not sure I found the right information for this specific
case.

Public bug reported:
I upgraded to Ubunto 13.10 this afternoon. Since the upgrade, my speakers make
a rythmic sound, one beat per somewhat less than a second. When I scroll a
window, like in Chrome, there's additional noise. When I turn up the sound
volume, there's additional random noise.
