of guesswork i dug into alsamixer's effect faders and

But in trusty I found some strange behavior of g-c-c/Text entry:
1) there is [Alt+Shift_L] in g-c-c/Text entry
2) getting preference of 'org.freedesktop.ibus.general.hotkey next-engine' set
it to ['Alt+Shift_L']
3) default settings in '/etc/default/keyboard' are
I've checked how the switching works in Cairo Dock session and
unfortunately the shortcut Ctrl + Shift L gets in the way of Terminal.
The shortcuts for copy pasting and opening new tab in Terminal don't
work in this case. Instead of that the input source is switched.

If you have these problems running Dota 2, you should try Mesa Git or wait for

Thanks for your input and response!!! xscreensaver ctrl+alt+L locks
my system perfectly! I will say that adding the new staging ppa did
solve some reboot / shutdown issues on my machine!!!

After a few more tests: I still get the same PAGE_NOT_PRESENT errors, as
well as a subsequent NULL pointer kernel oops. This occurs both with the
new Ubuntu package and with a manually-compiled upstream libdrm. So the
mesa/libdrm update does not solve this bug.

Sorry, I've told a lie above. Actually, I purged nvidia-319 and
installed nvidia-304 on the same Trusty install, and the behaviour is
still the same. So, the bug might actually live somewhere else.
