I've never been able to get to the Console once I get the error message
that Ubuntu is starting in low graphics mode. If I opt to "Run in low
graphics mode for just one session" the display freezes. The same
happens if I opt to "Exit to console login" or if I press Ctrl + Alt +
F1 or Ctrl + Alt + B

modem. I think either the Python ALSA bindings or /proc/asound/cards for
