When connecting the Terratec PHASE26 in 16/48 mode (6 channels) I get the error
Volume element PCM has 6 channels. That's too much! I can't handle that! and
the card fails to show up in Sound Settings.
Everything is fine with 24/48 mode (2 channels).

I'm still testing but something appears wrong. When I plug the printer
in I get Missing sysattr idVendor in the syslog. Which means the
device path udev-configure-printer is trying to find the vendor,
product ids, and serial number from, is not the device's root.

I had disabled Power Management in System Settings - Startup and Shutdown -
Service Manager - Startup Services.
Simply restarting the service immediately gave me back my Suspend buttons!

As a clarification TDFs 4.2.7 release _does_ update references, while Ubuntus
4.2.7-0ubuntu1 by default does not (see comment #17 on how to change that). So:
- TDFs 4.2.7 release shows fdo#81633, but not fdo#81309
- Ubuntus 4.2.7-0ubuntu1 by default shows fdo#81309, but not fdo#81633

I tried a system-recovery boot of the '-39' kernel.
I could 'drop to root prompt', and do apt-get commands, but on
attempting that, it complained that it was not using a read-only lock
file, and the apt-get commands would fail because it could not get the
