I see a similar effect on mako vivid-proposed. Sometimes after doing
nothing for a few hours I pick up the phone and find it having no data
connection at all, without any action from me. This could potentially be
because of short 3G network outages. I can confirm that switching from
3G to 2G in the
apport information

I have the same problem on Ubuntu 14.04. Plugging in the usb headset
makes it show up in the configuration tab of pavucontrol, but not in the
output tab.
$ killall pulseaudio
fixes it for me.

I tried two nights ago to install the alpha 2 but was unable to do it.
When I tried, ubiqity was starting the bouncing cursor and then stopping.
When I did the command from the shell, I found that it was failing to
delete a file called polkit-inhibit (sorry, forgot the directory for the
moment)
