No, I'm sorry, but installing nvidia-modprobe don't solve the bug.
When nvidia-modprobe is already installed, any update of the kernel
produce the bug.
You can use this simple workaround in a terminal after upgrading the
kernel, but before reboot your computer:

In Ubuntu, we don't use the embedded libpng with htmldoc, we use the
system libpng.
The security issues look like they are CVE-2009-3050, which was fixed in
our 1.8.27-4.1 package, which is currently in all supported versions of
Ubuntu.
