I was able to fix this on my ubuntu 14.04 installation using the vivid
kernel (3.19). I ran:
sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-vivid
did a reboot and the touchpad seems to be working now.

I'm on 15.04 and GNOME 3.16 with the gnome3-team and gnome3-staging PPA's.

I'm seeing this with LibreOffice 4.4.3 on Windows 7, at least when there
is a list of files in the recently used list. I've also seen it with
olderIt only happens when using OpenVPN and the VPN is connected, and
there are files in the recently used list that are on the shared drive

1) I disconnected my speakers from the rear jack, and plugged my
headphones into the front jack. After rebooting, the headphones are
detected and the sound works - everything is perfect. I opened the Sound
Settings dialog, and Headphones are present, Line Out is absent.
