through apt-get.
I held shift while clicking the link to the file and downloaded it.
I used kdesudo dolphin to open up dolphin file browser and copied the
chromium-browser.deb file into

OK, I have installed a video card (NVidia 750 Ti - it is on the
compatibility list). I will report back in a couple of weeks to confirm
whether it helped me successfully work around the problem (or earlier if
it didn't).

The trouble seems to stem from glib's way of deleting files being
different to the way gvfs tries to locate trash directories.
glib's gio/glocalfile.c contains the find_mountpoint_for function which

The workaround I am currently using is to use the b43-driver instead of
wl (sudo rmmod wl ; sudo modprobe b43). This means forgoing support for
802.11n, I think. At least I can no longer see 5GHz networks. However,
