I have fresh install of Ubuntu 17.04 and nVidia card with 2 monitors, one
rotated. I can configure it correctly in gnome-flashback and generate correct
xorg.conf in nvidia-settings, but the rotated secondary monitor is selected as

I've managed to fix this problem on my machine (HP Omen 15 running
Ubuntu 17.04 using codec for Realtek ALC295 sound device). To fix the
problem, I can do the following:
Install alsa-tools if not installed:
sudo apt install alsa-tools
Create and save a script in /usr/local/bin:

more than 'couple of years'

PackageKit is a little different (shouldn't be too hard to add, and I am rather
confident that hughsie would even allow this feature upstream).
So, in Debian we'd need the PK version, as aptd is dead and removed from

term, we likely do want Debconf to work (I haven't had time to look into
it yet though, that's why I like that Robert apparently looks into it

I have the same pre-install of Windows with Lenovo bloatware. I boot it up
every once in a while and let it download whatever Windows and Lenovo
updates it thinks it needs, including video and BIOS, but I don't think
that was what fixed it. On the Linux side I am running 17.04 now with
