Hello. Thank you for getting back to me regarding Bug 1749086. I've done
what you asked me for, however a strange thing has happened. Today I
managed to boot Ubuntu 5 times in a row without any problems (which was
unthinkable up until that point), therefore the logs may not contain any
errors.
Same issue after upgrading from Ubuntu Gnone 17.04 to Ubuntu 17.10.
First I purged gnome-screensaver, but it didn't work.
Then I went to Setting -> Privacy -> Screen Lock -> Automatic Screen
Lock and turned it off. Now the original Gnome lock screen went away and
only one lock screen is left.

Yes you are right that Confirmed is usually inappropriate with only one
reporter. That suggestion is just from my canned response, which also
follows common practice for other packages to jump to Confirmed after
re-testing has occurred.

Newly installed xubuntu, kubuntu (other flavours I haven't tried, but
probably the same), the screen turns off a few seconds after choosing

The Gnome project have changed some default key combinations that have
existed for 30+ years. I don't think this is acceptable. For reference,
the new key combination is Super+drag. Alt+Tab has been changed to
Alt+~. And the list goes on.
I think Ubuntu will do well to maintain the age old

Viet (zmg48), it will help immensely if you use the computer the problem is
reproducible with, file a new report with Ubuntu by first ensuring the package
xdiagnose is installed, and click the Yes button for attaching additional
debugging information after running the following from a terminal:

My problem is solved by rebooting and logging out and then back in.
