Silly me, instead of asking questions I should have tried it myself.
Whereas the previous fix definitely fixed it (at least for me) on 17.10,
it's indeed broken (again, in a somewhat different way: it's smaller
now, 48x48) for me too on 18.04.
I'll try to take yet another look.

Want to mention another workaround. Keep US in the UI, open ~/.profile

export LC_TIME=en_DK.UTF-8
And no, it's not a regression. Ubuntu (or GNOME) has never had a more
fine tuned GUI for setting regional formats.

Thank you for the bug report, could you provide the output of "xrandr"
and the journalctl log after getting the issue?

thanks for the explanation. You learn something every day. I've been

No, my dock is not set to auto-hide.
I've just tested with auto-hide turned on. The result is the same. The
dock does not hide when changing folder's name.
Also if I create a new folder on the desktop (with dock auto-hide on),
it partially hides behind the dock. I guess that issue is covered by
great, closing the bug then, thanks:

If this only happens on Windows 2003, I don't see it getting fixed given
