Screen tearing with 2 or more monitors in Xorg is a known problem,

Using Wayland should solve this. Although for GNOME, Wayland doesn't yet

I found a discussion of this bug at

workaround (kbd_mode -s). No clue to what gets it in the wrong mode to
begin with, though.

See comment #73. FWIW I pinged someone at Conexant one year ago,
the answer was essentially "no time, but soon". I guess it will
never happen. IMHO Takeshi should just submit his version even if it
has minor issues.
