Yeah - 1:0.28.2-5ubuntu4 should be the package version of libvte - so I
guess you must have installed a PPA with a later version. You should
have purged the PPA first before installing budgie

It appears libvte-common was somehow stuck at 2.90 on my system, even
though a newer one was available. My guess is that this was from a PPA.

Whoops, sorry, just noticed that it was related to Padoka's PPA, might
be a few days old (I'm currently testing stuff to identify an issue with
Mesa). I assume it's an issue with the PPA, bug report can likely be

Got this error randomly after an upgrade (not sure if it was after

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported

I've solved it for me now with a new graphics card. Couldn't bare the
nomodeset anymore knowing there was an alternative solution. Imagine how
much I am attached to Ubuntu to rather buy a new graphics card then to
switch to another OS ;-).
We can keep it open if you want further investigation and

Hi,
This bug affects others Linux distributions like Fedora 28 Workstation,
Manjaro XFCE Edition (17.1.12).
Could it be a GTK library problem ?
