Confirmed, chromium doesn't list the extensions installed by those packages.
However if I go to chrome://extensions, I can click on the button to load an
unpacked extension, and point the file picker to
/usr/share/chromium/extensions/ublock-origin, and the extension is correctly

would it be possible to find out which update fixed this issue and back
port to 16.04? Majority of my systems (10+ boxes) are on 16.04 because
many things broke (otherwise) on 18.04. I do not plan to upgrade in the
next few years.

I have a similar bug with LibreOffice Writer. Application freezes with

I think the problem here is CUPS' own method of generating temporary
queues for discovered driverless printers. gnome-control-center, and
probably other GUIs, like the GTK print dialog, cannot cope with this.
So we leave this bug report assigned to gnome-control-center for now.
