Hi, I'm getting the exact same problem with my thumbnailer:

After investigations using "G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all" I discovered the
thumbnailer is called by nautilus this way:
bwrap --ro-bind /usr /usr --ro-bind /etc/ld.so.cache /etc/ld.so.cache
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Hey guys, I don't think this is a solution but it didn't produce the error so
here it goes:
1. created a folder and named it "backups" in the home directory
2. changed the Storage location of the backup to the "backups" directory
3. created the backup and no error :)

This is still not resolved, from further upstream, for users running
gnome-shell.
