Dan, yes, something clearly needs to be done to prevent similar problems
from happening again with future updates. This was discussed in the
upstream bug report

@david: this is most likely because your /home/david/ramdisk mount point
is owned by root, not by your user. Try "sudo chown david:david
/home/david/ramdisk", does it fix the problem?

Ubuntu 20.04 isn't working. There is no such version in Ubuntu 20.04. If
you're using the official Ubuntu repositories and have updated your
system, you should have version 68.2.2

I backported clang 1:6.0.1-11 from disco to xenial in a PPA and rebuilt
firefox 71.0+build4 against it, but the crash still occurs at startup.

I guess you mean "there is only one PPL in the CPU, all cores get the
resulting clock". This would mean the readout of i7z in the idle case,
where each core has a different multiplier and a different clock, is
fake.
