This worked fine under Mint 17.1 - listing 3500 jpeg files took 20

It seems that mesa will incorrectly try to use formats advertised by
wl_drm but not zwp_linux_dmabuf_v1.

program showed a transfer speed of 0 bytes/s and showed no progress
throughout. I cancelled a few times, but one last time, I decided to
wait more than just a few minutes. The job completed, but there was

I apologize if this is a repeat of the bug I filed a couple of days ago,
but I don't see on launchpad that it shows I filed a bug, so I am
filling another. Also didn't know what to file the bug under so I chose
network-manager. It appears to be a bug with kernel 5.3.0-43.

the newest chrash file is 4 day old! So it can't be a crash which cause the
problem because yesterday I documented every thing I known about the error.

To complicate matters, the fix for comment #3 has now landed in upstream
gnome-shell 3.36.1. So if we want we can say "Won't Fix" to the now
redundant Plymouth fix in comment #7. Or land both because it's more
robust to have two fixes (both would have to regress before you noticed
a regression).

Please also remember to keep all extensions uninstalled while
investigating leaks. We don't want to spend time finding leaks in
extensions unless they happen to be the default Ubuntu ones.

Memory usage grows when locking/unlocking the screen
Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
In Ubuntu 20.04 (with the newest packages) the leak is present. After
logging in the memory usage of gnome-shell is 208MB. After pushing
Super+A it jumps to 213MB and stay there. After lock/unlock the screen
it jumps to 270MB and stays there. Repeated Super+A and lock/unlock
seems to do no further
