Hi, this issue happens to me to. But I figured it out that this only
happens in vertical multi-monitor setup with the dock on the left or on
the right. If I move the dock to the bottom, the issue disappears. So
that could be a temporary workaround for you until this bug is solved.

Yes, I know I can modify a file and turn off switch on connect. Working
around it isn't a problem, I still think it is a bug. It needs to either

No fractional scaling is enabled. I eventually started just not using

Hi,
I run Ubuntu 18.04 on a Dell Precision 7540. Most of the time I use
this through a Dell WD19DC dock. The dock is connected to a Trendnet
TK-240DP KVM Switch.
If I have the laptop clamshell closed, like I normally do, and switch my
KVM to the other computer, and then sw
20.04 RC shows the same problem with the nvidia-340 drivers on a MacPro
3,1 with Mac ROM'd GTX680. The autologin is ignored and the greeter is
shown instead. While the login works fine at the point, restarting then
causes the system to hang rather than completing the restart.

Can you see the content of that same mount doing
$ smbclient //192.168.178.1/sharename ?
if it fails could you add --debuglevel=10 and attach the log to the report?
(and ideally reporting upstream gvfs would make sense)

Again: gvfs-backends is installed (it was removed without my knowledge during
the update from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 beta). Perhaps you should not install a
beta version on a productive
system ;-)
When I want to mount the drive as in Ubuntu 19.10, I get:
$ gio mount smb://192.168.178.1/sharenam
