I just upgraded to Ubuntu 20.10 without realizing this problem with the
nvidia-340.108 . The upgrade failed to install this driver with the 5.8
kernel that comes with the upgrade. Fortunately, I still have the 5.4
kernel that is compatible. I have a Dell Inspiron 1400 with legacy GPU
GeForce 840

sudo dkms --verbose build -m nvidia-340 -v 340.108
and it returned the same error.
Since I still have an old kernel installed I tried:
sudo dkms --verbose build -m nvidia-340 -v 340.108 -k 5.4.0-26-generic
and it worked perfect, just for that

chromium executable that is taking a very long time to start up on cold
boot, there doesn't seem to be any significant overhead from snapd and
wrapper scripts.

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.
On my desktop, Delete (which moves the item to the Recycling bin) just deletes
it.
Shift+Delete (which deletes the item permanently) does ask.
To me, this is correct behaviour and shouldn't change.
But...
I don't know if this has anything to do with the extension that is

Same issue. Had some promising results with pali's branch of pulseaudio
which contains fixes for HSP/HFP profiles. But then a
pulseaudio/kernel/idk update borked it all and I don't have the mental
bandwidth
