can't restart when screen sleeps and power adapter plugged in

on an Asus zenbook, 2022. When power is plugged in and screen goes to
sleep, I can't get back, even with ctrl-alt-f1. I have to do a hard
reboot.

In relation with bug 2004111 that I submitted which was flagged as a
duplicate of this one, it just happenned again and I think I noticed
that it only happens when I have applications open, if no applications
are running it seems that my session doesn't close. I thought I'd share

It should be mentioned that the change resulted in a discussion, and
there is a later upstream commit which makes a choice of 10-sub-

Update: I was able to launch Chromium using a temporary profile.
Naturally it didn't save it. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. No
extensions. So far it's up and running.

I have the same bug with Ubuntu 22.10 running on a Dell 3500 laptop with
an external HDMI monitor as primary monitor. Like the others above,
the problem is semi-random, so likely related to some race condition.
The external monitor is very slow to wake after sleep, compared to the
laptop
