Hello, I am experiencing this issue (at least as far as I can tell) on
Xubuntu 22.04.1
Autologin will work correctly in a VM, but when the image is cloned onto
certain hardware, the autologin will fail randomly. On a Dell Optiplex
7070, it was failing about 20% of the time, on a HP EliteDesk 800
Last I checked, this did work already. You should get a menu option like
'Launch using Discrete Graphics Card' when you right click on an app
icon.

Laptop often freezes
I should add that this happens under xorg session and also when trying
to change language while renaming a file. Under wayland change of
language during renaming works, when pressing super+space. The issue is
independent of graphics card since this happens also in virtualbox
