I did an check and can confirm that the chromium-browser as installed by
the usual 22.04 package is *NOT* affected.
But Google chrome well as google-chrome-beta installed by the PPA
deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main

It struck me that fontconfig prefers Noto Sans by default in lunar and
mantic, but not in the snaps if I understand it correctly since the
fonts related packages are grabbed from jammy.
As a test I made this change in mantic:

for lunar and mantic snaps is unexpected.
But we do know that uninstalling fonts-droid-fallback from the host
system makes a difference wrt the snap behavior as regards Japanese font
rendering.

I fixed the problem myself by setting the printer up with a cupsdriver.
Since my printer is connected to my LAN as a networkprinter it is using
the default "driverless" setup that works out of the box after i install
Kubuntu. It works for native apps and flatpaks as well. Applications
