I believe this may be a regression (relapse of Bug #1591868 ). I
upgraded to yakkety the other day without major incident and have all
"updates" checked in the Software and Sources GUI. But after booting and
logging in just now, I see fwupd consuming two full cores without
I can confirm this behavior recurred in a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04

It's possible that it's the same bug as bug #1302416 , but I don't know
that there's specific evidence supporting that.

I have not noticed this problem on later kernels; I'm going to mark it

This is a sporadic problem on boot of this system (an HP Envy x360).
After boot, both before and after login, there is no network
connectivity. The network-manager GUI indicator does not load, and I am
unable to bring "up" any interfaces manually. A full reboot is required,
I have tried to recreate this with the following two mainline kernels:
v4.2-rc6-unstable
v4.2.0-999 (201508130157)
However, it is somewhat difficult to compare the behavior apples-to-
apples the way I normally do, as cpupower is not available for those
kernels (no linux-tools packages installed
I'm just updating this to indicate that the problem persists as of the
current state of Ubuntu 15.04.

I'm a little hesitant when it comes to the libxext installation from
Vivid; is there some way to figure out if this is going to break my
package dependencies?
I'm currently on Edgers. When I try to install the new libxext6, the
version is higher than the one required by my current libxext-dev.
I'm a little confused -- are you saing that upgrading libXext should
solve the crash or just the error spamming?
