Here is the dmesg that you asked for

It booted up to the ubuntu login screen fine, showing on both monitors.
As soon as i logged in the primary 30" went blank but the 20.1" was still
showing its part of the desktop.

I tried the kernel 3.10.0-994-generic #201306190448 from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/ from
19-Jun-2013 and still no luck
My log is littered with these warnings

2:2.21.9+git1306171317 don't seem to have helped

I have an Intel DH77EB motherboard with an Intel i7-3770S which has the HD
Graphics 4000 built in.
Connected to this is a Dell 30" U3014 (2560x1600) via displayport and a Dell
