Is there any way to manually uninstall this package?
I get "there are updates" every 5 minutes,about
- NVIDIA OpenCL Driver and ICD Loader library
- NVIDIA OpenCL ICD
- Transitional package for nvidia-340
- Transitional package for nvidia-340
and performing the update always fails.

I tried xfce4-settings 4.12.1-11 as mentioned in #133 and indeed it "works", X
does not crash.
However, the set screen resolution is lost. When I turn on the screen again,
the desktop defaults to the highest possible screen resolution.

An observation:
I have two login accounts to the system, both have personalized desktop
backgrounds.
Normally, the greeter assigns the selected user's desktop background before
login.
When logging out now, the login greeter flickers and the default bluish
desktop image is shown behind the login
Setting "Save session for future logins" in the logout dialog did not change
anything.
Still 1920x1080 desktop.

Xfce resets TV mod
It seems my problem was caused by a hardware problem.
After changing my motherboard due to defective ethernet and SPDIF ports, the
EMU1212 PCIe started working normally.
I changed from an AMD combo (Athlon A2) to an Intel combo (i3).
If there really is a problem with the AMD platform in this conte
I would like to try "this patch".
Please supply a link to where I can find it, and some detailed instructions on
how to apply it. I am not a programmer.

HDMI-0 on a GA-880GMA-UD2H, Radeon mobo graphics.
Tried to follow #26, but it seems I don't have any xorg.conf in my /etc/X11.

I have found that a workaround is to press Ctrl-Alt-F1 for a terminal
login, login as root and do:
service lightdm restart
This will invoke the graphical login screen, and I can log in as usual.

Just found out that the proprietary driver support for my Radeon HD4200 was
dropped from version 12.10 and later.
For my own part, I decided then to give up on my motherboard graphics to avoid
endless tweaks, and got myself a Nvidia GeForce G210 card instead. Works fine,

This Creative Labs EMU1212m PCIe is a brand new (March-2013) purchase, a
EMU1010 PCIe card + a 0202 DAC/ADC daughter board.
I have tested an older EMU1010 PCI card with the same 0202 DAC/ADC card
indivvidual and got sound immidiately. Alsamixer was correctly preconfigured,
I use gnome-panel with 12.04LTS.
When using fullscreen Adobe Flash player I see the top menubar plus the
bottom starus bar, plus I get some strange pointer behaviour (cannot
reach the bottom part of the screen) when I use XBMC mediacenter.
However, all these problems went away when I logged in us
