I found the reason...

I updated libcairo2 and libcairo-gobject2 packages and it resolved the
issue.

However I found that this update has corrupted the xfonts-terminus in
gvim.

Does anyone has an idea how to correct this?

  gtk2 Expander Right Arrow Wrong Size

Status in “gtk+2.0” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  In Natty (I think it was one if the updates, but I cannot figure the
  responsible) the right arrow of the expander in tree seem to be
  somehow cut at top and bottom, therefore it does not have the correct
  size.

  I realised now that it is not only in the expander, but whenever there
  is a right arrow, like the drop down menu.

  And this happens in all engines that I have tested.

  I am wondering if it is a package from the proposed archive, but I am
  not sure.
