After starting Dia, one sees its window for about one second and then it

Yes, it's still possible to run Dia from the command line, but it's barely
usable from there, as most functions are missing. Please fix this bug for the

You should update you Ubuntu version, as you are using an old,
unsupported version, as far as I know. Please try if your problem still
exists with Ubuntu 12.04 Precise.
