You cannot install the AMD legacy Catalyst/fglrx on Ubuntu 14.04/Trusty.
AMD has not updated its legacy driver for modern versions of the kernel
or Xserver, and Canonical cannot fix it since it is closed
Is banshee-dbg package installed? If not, please install it and reproduce the
crash if possible while starting bansee from terminal with command:
banshee --debug
(If banshee-dbg was already installed, please set the bug back to New.)

You cannot install the Catalyst legacy driver on Ubuntu 14.04.x/Trusty. It does
not support the kernel and Xserver version in Trusty.
Ubuntu 12.10 reached End of Life (EOL) on May 16, 2014 and is no longer
supported. In order to continue using it (not recommended because of potential
security issues), you need to change your apt sources to point to
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/
If you need help doing that, please use

then you're probably experiencing a different bug.
