myspell didn't work (was already installed), but installing hunspell-en- ca did (that's for Canadian spelling, replace en-ca with whichever language pack is appropriate for you, most likely en-ca, en-us. I don't think there's a British English one for hunspell though. Then restart LibreOffice. --
