I take a fast look to packages difference between precise and trusty and I think most likely the fix is included in freerdp 1.0.1-1ubuntu2.2-1.0.2-2ubuntu1, it is a bugfix release and precise is a LTS still supported, then a precise-backports of trusty's freerdp and remmina probably can be good.
