When I open an excel file directly, I get openoffice without a toolbar.
When I first open libreoffice and open it from there, everything is as
expected.

Sure. All I have to do is remove the xorg.conf file, reboot and open a mkv
video file with vlc.
Its reproduceable each time-
Not sure about those BIOS warnings, I get them with both SNA and no xorg.
