When I boot from the Utopic DVD I get to the language menu and I can select try

I had the problem with Ubuntu´s catalyst version, but it seems to be
fixed with Catalyst 14.9.

Nautilus starts with under 300 MB and after thumbnailing some jp2 files (JPEG
2000) memory ends up above 900 MB. Closing all nautilus windows does not
release the memory. Memory is only freed when doing nautilus -q.
The more files is thumbnails the more memory is uses.

Still happens with precise pangolin alpha (32 bits) with rhythmbox when
the album cover is missing. CPU does not get to 100%, just 70% and
memory does not grow as fast, maybe because this is a 32 bit platfrorm.
I was also affected in a 64 bit Oneiric.

Same happened with a DVD-R. The ISO image is 4706660352 bytes. Brasero
refuses to burn it in a Verbatim DVD-R.
K3B burns it correctly and reports
Track 01: Total bytes read/written: 4706660352/4706660352 (2298174 sectors).
DVD-R format has 2298496 2048-byte sectors totalling 4707319808 bytes of
