I tried to do that in the mean time (using Alt F2), but no web browser
in terminal, so couldn't finish it, and haven't been able to locate the
report yet. Anyhow, I googled a little further and learned that
compizconfig settings manager is a notorious culprit. So I did a compiz
revert to stand

I have ati radeon xpress 200m not nvidea, but the same thing happens
regularly. Usually when playing video or even audio streams ; codec:
'mp3', url: 'http://icecast.omroep.nl/radio1-bb-mp3', stream: true. I
don't know if the audio played via flash.
