Dunno if it is relevant, i am running ubuntu 20.04 set to german
on a zfs rootfs installation with zsys. The modifcation dates however of the
files look ok according to ls.

Affects me too. I have 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.
The bug only reveals in "Show Symbol" view of nautilust, list view seems
to be ok.

Disabling 'desktop icons' from the extensions app did not work for me, but
renaming the
folder /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano did the trick.

* It looks related to mutter (a gnome desktop component), since some guys
report that the freeze disappears when updating mutter.

In Evince it shows the annotation in text as strike-through text
(similair as in Adobe Reader DC on Win), but when clicking on the
annotation in the text, it shows an empty box without the annotation
text.
