I installed a new kernel 4.20 on Gnome-shell and the power consumption was almost same/high. Then, I removed the kernel and switched back to 4.18 that comes with 18.10 base and installed unity-session and I noticed a sudden decrease in power consumption. I don't know, if the problem is

I think the xserver-xorg is causes tap action not work, because your setting "TouchpadOff" is 2 (where only tapping is disabled). I had same problem too, in Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 but when I try to configure using "synclient TouchpadOff=0" (0= mean enables all functionally) it's doesn't work.

Just observed with with a freshly updated Ubuntu 11.10. The error occurred while moving one tab out of a two-tab terminal window, to make a separate window for the tab. It happened at the moment when I released the left mouse button outside the original window. One tab was running a git svn clone
