So I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my HP ProBook 4445s. I applied all
updates on the update manager then installed the FGLRX through
Additional Drivers application.
I then checked the system information if it reports the correct video
driver, since issues with FGLRX were appa

I'd also like to see a desktop design started that would try
to create the same look-and-feel as Windows - short of being sued -
because (IMHO) that would greatly help the cross-over user become more
relaxed with Linux. And I'd gladly join whatever maintainer group was
created to develop this

Drive is OK. Plays Audio CDs just fine. Installed Ubuntu from it no problem.

Expected DVD to play.
Instead it tried to play but just spat out bits of soundtrack and corrupted
video.
I'll try VLC instead of Media Player

Also I downloaded this version of Ubuntu with my Parallels 7 virtual
machine and I guess it is the latest Ubuntu. I keeps asking me for the
password for the key chain but I never put one in so how do I find the
password?
