Yes, use the proprietary driver or a get a new system with Intel

because I am no more using the computer that had it; so for me,
everything is okay.

I already filed this bug when I used the xorg-edgers ppa. Now I purged
it but that doesn't help. So here is the description again, updated with
the new lightdm version and a detailed description on what happens.

I'll try again after purging the xorg-edgers ppa, but I'll have to
report one additional bug at least, because lightdm doesn't start with
weston on my laptop either. And there, I have an Intel graphics chip and
no xorg-edgers ppa.
