The problem exists in Ubuntu 20.04 desktop. I use the default onscreen
keyboard. I have added a second language (greek) and it works fine on a real
keyboard, but on the onscreen keyboard, some keys don't work (don't do
anything) i.e. the backspace and the enter.

I recently upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10. Since then, whenever I try to
start certain programs such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome (not
Chromium), fglrxinfo, etc., I see a blank screen for a second (seems
like X crashes) and I'm taken back to the X login screen.

I have been testing with Ubuntu 13.04 and 3.9 rc kernel from

kernel drivers seems to work good. No error messages or bug traces
appear in logs. evtest properly reports BTN_TOUCH events all the time.

seems to be no bug with the kernel module, but I think Xorg is quite

report for this. Also automatic screen rotation is not working. There
should also be some event when the physical keyboard is revealed, that
is not recognized (i remember that in win8 on screen keyboard was

Yep, I can confirm that the flash issue is unrelated. External flash
(11.2) works fine, please ignore the issue. Chrome 23 ships flash 11.5.
