Pidgin was working fine for me till 12.04 and I "fresh" installed 12.10 a few days back and I see this bug. It is very annoying. Please fix this bug? I can send the debug log if it is required. What is more painful is that Pidgin does not provide an explicit minimize to tray option.

Previously, closing the contacts window with a chat window would leave pidgin running in the system tray. Now, closing it closes all of Pidgin, even if a conversation window is still open and active. I've checked and the system tray option is still active, but I'm under the impression that Unity irreparably breaks system tray functionality, so I guess that doesn't mean anything. Regardless, Pidgin should remain open if one of its windows is still open.
