This is an very old bug, but maybe it could help someone. In my case,
the .dbus directory in home was owned by root:root and that was actually
the blocker.
sudo chown -R user:user ~/.dbus
solved the issue and nm-applet became visible after restart.

with latest updates i was able to run propriery driver with nvidia-
prime, but only 346 version. With 340 there are problems like black
screen or as users report, we can reach sddm, enter login data but after
loading screen we are kicked back to sddm again. One user also reported

Few days ago after tinkering with bluetooth audio configuration I made
to the point where nothing worked, headset wouldn't even connect. Then I

Ok solved it. I have had enabled xorg edgers ppa and thier packages
didn't work with navidia-prime. Atm. i'm using drivers available in
Trusty and all works nice, without any problems. I think my report might
be closed.

I'm on Kubuntu. If i do sudo prime-select intel and logout i get black
screen but after reboot it works fine. Than if i do sudo prime-select
nvidia and logout i get black screen but after reboot login works with
nvidia profile but all effects are off and theres no aby option to turn

today i have installed some updates from proposed. This broke my system
(xorg etc.) so i had to do a fresh 14.04 installation. I hav einstalled
also nvidia 331 and this ad dependency installed nvidia-prime. All seems
to work just fine now so maybe the problem was with some old

Tested on Dell Inspiron. Booting ends with command line after plymouth
is presented for a few seconds and asking for login :/

Strange. I'v installed it on Kubuntu and had the same problem (only
command line to enter login). Did you do anything else than installing
this package?

I tried also to reinstall drivers and nvidia-prime. Now booting ends
with black screen.
