This bug is still an issue for me and other users.
It is very annoying to need to use my wifes Windows PC for printing my
photographs :-(
Here is now more clear bug description to re-open the bug.
The bug really seems to be in the media/paper type-selection. I can only print
on plain paper.

First I printed a simple text file using Kate. It did not print.
The error_log is attached.
Then I moved to capture the print job data with interesting results:

I did perform further testing with Gimp+jpeg by holding and re-enabling
the queue. Interesting results !
printing on 4x6 media type photo paper semi gloss. No print.
Changed to A4 media type plain paper. Print OK.
No changes in settings. Just print. Print OK.

and purchased a new Canon MG6250 for photo quality printing. I would
like to use color managed printing with linux+gutenprint but seems
tough.
My printer is connected via ethernet (LAN). Connection ok. I

current model and with better color performance than the MP240. With
