Public bug reported:
I have a HUAWEI E15 50 HSDPA USB Stick
When I plug it in, the journal shows:

Public bug reported:
After inserting a GSM modem into USB slot, it appears in the top right
below the Wifi settings.
When clicking "connect" or "Mobile Broadband Settings", the settings
dialog appears on the "Network" pane where there are settings only for
VPN and Network Proxy.
$ lsb_release
As a workaround to allow installation, I made a symlink:
# cd /usr/lib
# ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/utempter
# apt-get install libutempter0
-> installation can finish however it might be good to remove the
symlink afterwards (?)

I need to boot from this live-cd and there install steam and the game to
test it, is that correct?
I have another 14.04 ubuntu where the bug does not happen with the same
game, so it might be hardware-specific.

I can confirm that the ppa in 1293252 fixes the crash.

I solved the problem for me by doing as root the following:
(Before you do this, make sure you have the two package files or similar
versions of these package files in /var/cache/apt/archives !)
dpkg --ignore-depends=tex-common --purge tex-common
dpkg --ignore-depends=texlive-base --purge
The only strange thing left is: when I run
apt-get install -f
my system configures all texlive packages (e.g., languages and so on)
and for each package gives the following warning:

I think what is broken is just the program to configure these shortcuts.
Why? Because using workarounds I can configure my X to switch among layouts
when I press ALT+SHIFT. In my setup at least there is no inherent
limitation about the ability of using these special keys for switching.

After deinstalling gstreamer plugins and totem-mozilla plugin and

Firefox regularly eats up 100% or 200% CPU usage while just gmail and

Should I try if this happens again if I set it to false?
Which functionality will I lose if I set it to false?

i am sure that i disabled all indexing (system-preferences-search and
indexing - remove all directory paths) to make my machine faster, so
perhaps this contributed to solve the problem?
