As I expected thunderbird worked after the reboot, even though on
startup it threw the same g_slice_set_config assertion. Before rebooting
I had tried to flush /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches, didn't look to clear an
ipcs though, not sure if it uses those, but I'll clear any ipcs I find
next time (using f

This happens for me with several applications, e.g. glxgears, cheese,
flash 11.2 r202 in firefox (but not in google-chrome with pepper flash)
on 13.04. It was ok with 12.04 and 12.10 .

This broke after firefox 6. For example in confluence's drag and drop
box for attachments. Works fine in Chrome & Safari.
