Confirming this with using a `Microsoft Wireless Desktop 2000` dongle in an USB 3.0 port on Ubuntu 15.04. Fixed it by plugging in a spare wired mouse, or a Logitech dongle. We can then adjust mouse speed as expected. Settings made there will affect the MS desktop too. -- You received this bug

From above mentioned reports on Ask Ubuntu people reported that avoiding hibernation or fast-boot of Windows succeeded in resolving the issue. It may therefore rather be an issue with inappropriate hardware shut down from the Windows hibernation process than an issue of the Ubuntu sound system.

This confirms that in 12.04 we are able to set profiles with pavucontrol that are not accessible from gnome-control-center sound settings. In our case for profile `Analog Stereo' (non-duplex) we need to run pavucontrol. Sound settings only allow `Analog Stereo Duplex' profile. -- You received
