The "MEMORY-ERROR" message appears in ~/.xsession-errors rather than
syslog for me, but it's also the same random crashing of gnome-
characters that causes the application to suddenly exit; relevant lines
in ~/.xsession-errors:

The way that I'm testing this is with the candidate release for
Inkscape. Which is 1.2, you can grab as a snap with: snap install

While I think it is fine for Inkscape to not be in main, there is a snap
for it, if there are those who want to still see it in main another
possible solution is to split out the Python extensions. They're

So I'm interpreting this as "Messages on Welcome Screen" is related to
the data being shown on the welcome screen. Where the messages and
notification settings is a Unity setting which just blocks the whole
panel.

When using Compiz/Unity at my external monitor's full resolution
(1920x1080), my external display displays horizontal distortion.
Sometimes the vertical alignment will also waver.
This doesn't appear using metacity, so it's not a hardware issue. This
also doesn't appear using

my fix was updating the hda audio drivers. I realize there wasnt any
audio support for my gigabyte mobo.
I alsa had the problem where the sound is not emitting from the green
audio jack. My computer doesnt have an hdmi cord plug in. I was using
dvi cable for my monitor and audio jack for my

It looks like this is an LO issue. Looking at the example of insert
table, the action is set to disabled:

This was a long time ago. Laptop is long gone, so is that release. I
didn't realize this bug was still open. I can't see any reason not to
close it at this point.
